With certain military moves, you may find yourself looking for housing that’s a little less permanent before making long-term arrangements. There are several temporary housing options that may be right for you. Explore the information about temporary housing facilities including allowances, lodging rates and eligibility.
The Gateway Inn is permanently closed.
The Navy Lodge is located on JBAB. Public transportation (Metro Bus) is located outside the entrance gate. 50 units with air conditioning & private baths. Family accommodations. This is a nonsmoking facility. Reservations can be made via the web page. You can also book now by calling 202-563-6950, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Once you make a reservation, you cannot be bumped from your room. Reservation & room assignments are accepted on an as-received basis without regard to rank, rate, or time of reservation.
Navy Lodge Pet Policy
PET ELIGIBILITY: Domesticated dogs & domesticated cats weighing up to 50 pounds each are welcome in PET FRIENDLY GUEST ROOMS. A maximum of two pets are allowed per family. All pets must be housebroken. Unauthorized breeds: Chows, Doberman Pinschers, Presa Canarios, Pit Bulls American Pit Bull Terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier, Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Rottweilers, any Wolf Hybrid, or any mix of the aforementioned breeds. Note: The Commanding Officer may establish additional restrictions.
PET RESERVATIONS: Rooms designated, as “Pet Friendly” will be filled on a first come, first serve basis. Reservations may be made at www.dodlodging.net, 1-877-NAVY-BED(1-877-628-9233) or at the local NGIS. Certificates of Non-Availability (CNA) are not authorized should a pet friendly room not be available.
PET FEES: A non-refundable $20 fee (not to exceed $200.00 per stay) per night will be charged at check-in based on length of stay.
All reservations are based on availability - this includes inbound PCS & outbound PCS.
Reservations are based on space availability.
For TDY guests, lodging staff will coordinate off-base lodging with one of their contract quarter properties in the local area and issue a Non-Availability Letter to the guest. The TDY member is responsible for paying the hotel charges and must request reimbursement through his/her travel voucher upon completion of the TDY. This service is not available for space-available guests.
PCS guests are given a Temporary Living Expense (TLE) letter that specifies that on-base facilities were not available. The guests are responsible for obtaining their own local accommodations. If requested however, the lodging staff will assist the guest in locating accommodations.
