The Department of Defense is now lifting travel restrictions based on local conditions at installations. This approach is per the May 22, 2020, secretary of defense memorandum, Transition to Conditions-based Phased Approach to Coronavirus Disease 2019 Personnel Movement and Travel Restrictions.Once a state or country is cleared (Stage 1), an installation is assessed via Stage 2 criteria to lift travel restrictions. This protects force readiness and the well-being of the entire military community.
