Deployment can be a challenging phase of the military lifecycle, but it’s important to know that you don’t have to go through it alone. The military provides a variety of resources and support programs — ranging from educational briefings to morale calls — for your loved ones, children and service members to ease the stress of deployment. Military members may be assigned to a specific installation but support may come from local communities, Yellow Ribbon events or the installation itself.
The Mobilization & Deployment Program provides assistance to families of Active Component and Reserve Component forces and emergency-essential civilians in support of military operations, deployment or mobilization to enhance unit cohesion and increase readiness.
The assistance includes addressing all levels and phases of family assistance planning; providing pre-deployment and post deployment briefings, conducting unit rear detachment training, supporting and training family readiness group leaders and liaisons, planning and conducting family assistance center exercises and distributing Operation READY materials.
Additionally, the Mobilization & Deployment Program assists unit family readiness groups and the rear detachment cadre during the entire deployment cycle. Support includes classes on deployment preparation, managing finances, helping children adjust, family separation, return and reunion, and information on resources available locally and on-line.
Oversees the Family Assistance Plan which addresses all levels and phases of stability and support operations and mobilization or deployment.
Provides post-deployment briefings, workshops and symposiums to assist in family unification problems, lessons learned and recommendations for improving procedures in the following areas: Pre-Deployment Resilience Training for Soldiers; Pre-Deployment Resilience Training for Leaders; Post-Deployment Resilience Training for Soldiers; Pre-Deployment Resilience Training for Spouses and Post-Deployment Resilience Training for Spouses.
The Deployment/Mobilization Readiness Program Manager is located in the Service Soldiers Building Room 177, 334-255-9578 or DSN 312-558-9578.
