If you need emergency assistance, you can expect to get help from your installation, your branch of service resources. There are programs to support you in a variety of situations, including victim assistance, emergencies en route and service-specific relief societies. Below, you’ll find types of assistance, contact information, and detailed procedures and guidance to help you through any tough circumstances that you or your family may face.
For after-hours emergencies, contact the Installation Operations Center, or IOC, at 706-791-9747.
For emergency domestic violence victim advocacy, call the 24-hour hotline at 706-791-STOP or 706-791-7867. Both restricted and unrestricted reports can be made at this number.
For emergency Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention, or SHARP, victim advocacy, call the 24-hour hotline at 706-791-6297.
In the event you need emergency assistance (leave extension, change in port call, family travel problems, etc.) you should contact the Human Resources Contact Center at 800-582-5552.
For further assistance, contact the nearest military installation and notify your sponsor/gaining unit as soon as possible. You may also contact the American Red Cross at 877-272-7337.
Army Emergency Relief, or AER, is a private, non-profit organization established to assist active-duty soldiers, retirees and their family members in emergency financial situations due to no fault of their own. Financial assistance is given in the form of an interest-free loan, grant, or combination of the two. Loans are repaid by an allotment.
