Employment Readiness was established to aid in reducing the stress associated with obtaining employment (paid and non-paid) and pursuing educational and training opportunities. Spouses are offered assistance in acquiring skills, networks and resources that will allow them to participate in the work force and to develop a career/work plan.
Soldier for Life Transition Assistance Program (SFL-TAP)

Soldier for Life-Transition Assistance Program's mission is to provide pre-separation counseling, transition and employment assistance services to Active Duty, Guard, and Reserve Soldiers who are considering or preparing to depart the military and all work age family members of each of the above groups.
Basic eligibility for SFL-TAP services begins when transitioners are within eighteen months of separation or two years of retirement. Transition leave and/or permissive TDY may be added to the basic eligibility period. Service members pending "involuntary separation actions" for any reason, including potential medical separation, are eligible and encouraged to begin using SFL-TAP and transition services as soon as separation is anticipated. Alumni, their family members, and other service veterans may use SFL-TAP services for 180 days after separation. Retirees may use SFL-TAP services for life, on a space available basis.
Army Continuing Education Services
Continuing Education Services mission is to maximize educational opportunities for all customers. Our vision is to provide the Army's premiere education center, committed to service, excellence and innovation.
We provide the following support to the Fort Johnson community:
1. Self-development opportunities for Soldiers, family members, Department of the Army Civilians (DACs), retirees, contractors and civilians from the local community in real time and virtual environments. Programs and services available may vary depending on the category of the client, i.e., we provide Army Tuition Assistance (TA) only to active-duty Soldiers. Programs and services to include educational counseling, testing, college degree programs, basic skills training, Multi-use Learning Facility/MOS Library and self-paced programs such as KUDER Journey Career Planning Process and Peterson's Online Academy Skills Course (OASC).
2. Recruitment, Retention, Readiness, and Quality of Life support
For Army Personnel Testing requests (DLPT, DLAB, OPI, BMST, AFCT, and SIFT), please download the appropriate DA 4187 from the list below and follow the instructions to fill out and submit the requests electronically.

Colleges located in the Education Center:
The Stateside Spouse Education Assistance Program is a need-based education assistance program designed to provide spouses of active duty and retired Army Soldiers, and widows(ers) of Army Soldiers who died either on active duty or in a retired status, and residing in the United States, with financial assistance in pursuing educational goals. The purpose of the program is to assist spouses/widows(ers) in gaining the education required to allow them to qualify for increased occupational opportunities. Individuals who receive free tuition as a result of their employment will not receive tuition assistance from Army emergency Relief. However, they may apply for assistance for fees, supplies or books (no duplicates) for classes in which they are enrolled. "Active Duty" military personnel are not eligible. The Stateside Spouse Education Assistance Program scholarships are awarded annually for up to four academic years to attend post secondary school full time as undergraduate level students. All students must complete an application and mail all supporting documentation each year. Stateside financial assistance is awarded based on financial need, as evidenced by income, assets, family size, special financial obligations and circumstances with a $2700 maximum per academic year. To be eligible for Louisiana unemployment benefits, you must meet the following requirements:
Non Monetary Eligibility
To have a monetarily eligible claim, the wages you earned during your base period must be at least $1,200 and total at least 1.5 times your wages in the base period quarter when you earned the most money (also called the high quarter).
The weekly benefit amount of unemployment compensation that you may receive is fixed by law. The amount of money you could receive each week will be at least $10 and no more than $247. The weekly benefit amount is figured based on how much money you earned in covered employment.
