Waiting time for government quarters can be upwards of 18 months, depending on the family size and time of the year that you complete a permanent change of station. Families are often required to rent a temporary dwelling until they can obtain on-post quarters. Area rental agencies usually require a deposit equal to one month's rent as well as the first month's rent and the last month's rent up front. Start saving now to prepare.
