Welcome to the Baltimore Recruiting Battalion. The Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C., area (nicknamed the DMV) has much to see and do. We have all four seasons here, although they may vary from other locations where you have lived.
The Baltimore “Gladiators” Recruiting Battalion, headquartered on Fort George G. Meade, is responsible for Army recruiting activities that span more than 18,500 square miles throughout Maryland, D.C., Northern Virginia, West Virginia and Delaware. The battalion has one of the largest assigned missions within the entire U.S. Army Recruiting Command.
Most interests are available here. Outdoor activities include fishing and water sports, biking, running and walking. There are many museums in the surrounding areas, including the Smithsonian American Art Museum, the National Air and Space Museum, the National Museum of American History, the National Mall, the National Monument, the International Spy Museum, Ford’s Theater and more. There are also zoos, aquariums and amusement parks nearby.
The 1st Recruiting Brigade, which you and your family are about to become a part of, is responsible for the greater Northeast. It is headquartered out of Fort Meade, Maryland, and currently consists of eight battalions: Albany, Richmond, Beckley, Harrisburg, New England, New York City, Mid-Atlantic, Syracuse and, of course, Baltimore.
