School Registration

Parents are urged to register their children for school as soon as possible after they move into the school's attendance area. Fort Meade schools are Anne Arundel County Public Schools. If your child is receiving special education services, please obtain a copy of your child's individualized education plan prior to your transfer. For more information about transferring a child with special education needs, contact the school liaison officer at 301-677-1227 or DSN 312-622-1227. Child Development Centers

The central registration office is located at 4550 Parade Field Ln, 3rd Flr. Hours of operation are 8 a.m.-4 p.m., Monday-Friday. Sponsors must present proper identification, the child's birth certificate, the child's Social Security number, and an up-to-date shot record at the time of registration. Full-time and hourly care is available.

Critical Installation Information

• Defense Service Network dialing Instructions – DSN is the provider of long-distance communications service for the Department of Defense. Each installation has a special DSN number and the numbers vary by worldwide location. In order to place a call using DSN, the caller must be using a military phone on an installation. Cellphones cannot dial DSN numbers. When dialing a DSN number from a United States installation to another United States installation, it is unnecessary to dial the DSN 312 area code. When dialing a DSN number to or from overseas locations, the DSN area code must be included. The operator can be reached at commercial 719-567-1110. Please note that long distance charges may be incurred.
