Child Care Overview

Programs and services are available at most installations for children up to age 12.  Care may be provided in Child Development Centers, School Age Care Programs, and Family Child Care Homes.  Please review the information to find out what programs and services are available at this installation.  Please contact the Child and Youth Program point of contact at this installation if you require information, assistance or resources for child care in your local community.

Child, Youth, and School Service (CYSS) offers subsidized child care programs at military installations. Personnel assigned to Fort Meade may contact the CYS Parent Central Services Registration, 301-677-1149, for information regarding child care on post. Army Fee Assistance (AFA) was created to assist qualifying Army Sponsors with the cost of off-post childcare, allowing Families to pay fees comparable to those charged on an installation. If you do not have access to an on-installation childcare provider, you may be eligible to participate in AFA. The benefit is available to children from birth through 12 years of age.
