Military Dining Facilities, Officer and NCO Clubs
There are no US Officers, NCO, or Combined Clubs here at Kalkar. There is, however, a community room on the third floor of our National Support Unit that serves as the meeting place for the Booster Club and for the community's social functions.
There is a small German canteen (snack bar) for airmen and a Combined Enlisted and Officers Club (called “Kasino”), which has meal services. The Combined Club also serves a "troop issue" menu at noon, in addition to the regular menu. The Combined Club has active social programs. Membership costs are very reasonable.
Kalkar Welcome Committee (KWC)
The Kalkar Welcome Committee was founded to promote international friendship while learning about and enjoying the Kalkar area. The club is open to all spouses of the Kaserne and Kalkar community and every nationality has a National Representative on the Executive Committee. The program generally includes a monthly morning coffee for all members and at least one additional outing per month throughout the year.
Church Information
Spangdahlem AB is our designated support base for Chaplain Service. Our assigned Chaplain from Volkel Air Base (NL) has an office in our National Support Unit building, makes weekly visits and can provide religious education material, counseling services, and emergency Chaplain support upon request. English speaking Catholic services can be found in the Netherlands (30 miles away) and in Duesseldorf.
