Programs and services are available at most installations for children up to age 12. Care may be provided in Child Development Centers, School Age Care Programs, and Family Child Care Homes. Please review the information to find out what programs and services are available at this installation. Please contact the Child and Youth Program point of contact at this installation if you require information, assistance or resources for child care in your local community.
For your convenience, registration for all CYS programs is handled at the reception desk at Parent Central Services in Building 653 (Youth Center). All necessary forms will be provided upon registration. However, at the time of enrollment the following must be presented to our clerks:
Child Development Center (CDC) is located in building 847. This facility accredited by the National Academy of Early Childhood programs (NAEYC). We offer full day, part-day and hourly care for children in rich and stimulating environments where children can develop motor, cognitive, social and emotional skills through a balance of exploration and planned curriculum. Learning activities are designed to support the natural development of children and include individual, small group and large group experiences.
School Age program is located in building 847. This facility is accredited by the Council on Accreditation (COA). Through partnerships with groups such as 4-H, CHARACTER COUNTS!, and Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA), installations help children learn to work with their strengths, interests, and each other, to feel good about themselves, and to grow as individuals. Programs are offered in the core areas of Arts, Recreation, and Leisure; Sports, Fitness and Health; Life Skills, Citizenship, and Leadership; and Academic Support, Mentoring, and Intervention.
Youth Center (YC) is located in building 653. The Middle School and Teen Programs are designed specifically for middle school youth and teens to ensure that the physical, cognitive, social and emotional needs of youth are addressed, and predictable services provided. The Youth Center offers programs in the following areas: sports, fitness & health options; life skills, citizenship & leadership opportunities; arts, recreation and leisure activities; academic support, mentoring, and intervention services.
Youth Sports & Fitness offer programs for children between the ages of three and eighteen can be kept busy with team and individual sports, developmental sports, health & fitness options, and outdoor adventure offered by CYSS Sports and Fitness. Through these activities youth engage in healthy physical activity, make friends, and learn social and athletic skills as well as good sportsmanship. Teams are led by trained volunteer coaches who are certified by the National Association for Youth Sports (NAYS).
