Relocation assistance can provide support if you’re preparing to move or PCS. The programs and services defined below are provided by the Military and Family Support Center. In addition to the assistance program, a variety of other services may be available. Check the additional information topic to see what unique installation services are available to you.
If you are approaching a permanent change of station, or PCS, you may have questions about your upcoming move. As part of the Military and Family Support Center, the Relocation Assistance Program provides services and resources to help make this transition as smooth as possible. Below is a list of resources.
Your unit sponsor should be your first contact for relocation assistance; there is not a military personnel office on post. Additional information, if needed, may be obtained by calling the Army Community Service Relocation Office at 907-873-2479.
There is a Lending Closet located on Fort Greely. Hours are Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Call 907-873-2479. The Lending Closet provides household and kitchen items; it does not have furniture or linens.
Motor Vehicle Registration
Motor vehicle registration by the Fort Greely Police is no longer required, but individuals are still required to show a common access card, and/or a dependent identification card at any entry point. Visitor passes for others requiring entry may be obtained at the visitor center at the main gate, Building 556. Hours are Monday-Friday, 6 a.m.-3 p.m. Call 907-873-3663.
Weapons Registration
Privately owned weapons are allowed on post by personnel who reside on Fort Greely. All privately owned weapons being stored in quarters must be registered within 48 hours (two working days) of purchase or of the weapon being brought onto the installation.
Weapons registration takes place at the visitor center at main gate, Building 556, Big Delta Avenue. Hours for registration are Monday-Friday, 6 a.m.-3 p.m.
