Defense Service Network dialing instructions
The DSN is the provider of long-distance communications for the Department of War. Every installation has a special DSN number, and those numbers vary by location. To place a call to a DSN, the caller must be using a military phone on an installation. When dialing a DSN number from a stateside installation to another CONUS installation, it is not necessary to dial the stateside DSN area code. When dialing a stateside DSN number to/from overseas locations, the DSN area code must be included.
