There are programs to support you in a variety of situations, including victim assistance, emergencies en route and service-specific relief societies. Below, you’ll find types of assistance, contact information, and detailed procedures and guidance to help you through any tough circumstances that you or your family may face.

The American Red Cross offers a variety of services to military personnel and their family members. Services include emergency verifications and reporting, counseling in personal and family problems, financial assistance in meeting emergencies, and disaster assistance. The Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society (NMCRS) provides aid to active and retired Navy and Marine Corps service members, their families, and survivors in time of need.
Categories of financial assistance include basic living expenses (food, shelter, utilities), medical and dental not covered by insurance, funeral expenses, emergency transportation, essential car repairs, pay and allotment problems, disasters and assistance for widows, mothers, and children. NAWS China Lake also houses a uniform locker which is beautifully stocked with various donated uniform items that are available to servicemembers at no cost. Donations and volunteers are always welcome and appreciated.
