When you arrive at your new installation, you’ll need to follow installation-specific procedures. Each installation and service handles in-processing differently. Here, you can find installation-specific guidelines and a list of documents to bring with you when checking- in. Reach out to the contacts provided if you have specific questions.
In-Processing
The 24-hour arrival point for Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane Division is the Naval Support Activity Center. The Personnel Center provides temporary passes for visits and is located at 300 Hwy 361. Upon arrival, your sponsor will assist with setting up in-processing appointments and handling all problems that may arise. Call the Personnel Center for more information at 812-854-1762. A newcomer's orientation will be held once in-processing is complete. Be sure to bring all medical and dental records and any applicable financial paperwork to report in.
In-Processing Documents
Incoming personnel should have a copy of their orders, any leave forms, copies of travel receipts and any travel advances, military ID cards, driver's license and auto insurance information. Families with school-age children should have their birth certificates, immunization records, Social Security cards and current physical certification.

If you get married, have a newborn child, or adopt a child before you complete your PCS move, you must inform your chain of command and follow the procedures exactly as you are given them. The military will not pay for the travel and housing of your family members if you do not follow proper procedures or if your spouse and dependent are not on orders. Your service record must have all family members recorded prior to executing your PCS orders. Make sure to update your PG 2 on NSIPS and update DEERS.
To enroll in DEERS and get your ID, you will need to contact the RAIPD ID Office located at NSA Crane Cafe Bldg. 121 Rm 5 300 Highway 361 CRANE, IN 47522, 812-854-1536. Please make sure to make an appointment on the ID Office website.

Same day walk-in appointments
To schedule multiple ID Cards or transactions, please make back-to-back appointments for each transaction/ID needed
Please arrive on time. Appointments will not be honored more than 5 minutes past the scheduled time
ALL Sponsors, Spouses, and Dependent Children 18 and older must have two UNEXPIRED forms of ID to receive a new ID card
One must be state/government issued photo ID
Lost or stolen CACs must have a police report in hand printed out for replacement

All documents must be in original form or a certified copy
When adding a spouse to DEERS, please provide a certified copy of the Marriage Certificate along with two forms of ID
SAILOR CHANGE IN DEPENDENCY STATUS
Sailors who have a change in dependency status (i.e., marriage, divorce, birth, adoption, death, etc.) must visit the command’s Pay and Personnel Administration Office immediately thereafter to update page 2. Sailors are to bring with them the appropriate supporting document(s) (i.e., marriage certificate, divorce decree, birth certificate, death certificate, etc.) to be scanned into NSIPS abd updated your RED/DA.
SAILOR NAME CHANGE
Sailors who legally change their name will need to Log into my Navy Portal, under My Records the member will find a box that says "Name Change" and then will be redirected to BOL, where you will select name change and make the following updates and submit the supporting documentation.
