It’s likely that employment will change when a move occurs, especially for military spouses. The information below will provide you with employment assistance information and resources available such as SECO, MyCAA and MSEP Portals.

Employment Opportunities

Job opportunities are limited as to type of position and salary in the Red River Army Depot area. Federal employment opportunities do exist on the installation and vacancy announcements are posted on USAJOBS. There is a Defense Logistics Agency located on RRAD also and their job openings can be found at the same website. There are numerous contractors located on the installation that have job opportunities that range from administrative to trades.

In Texarkana, approximately 20 miles away, the construction industry is booming. Job opportunities are good for skilled construction workers. Texarkana has two major medical facilities and numerous clinics, making it a good market for those in the medical field. The current unemployment rate is 5.7% in the Texarkana area.

Civilian Personnel Advisory Center is located in Building 115 East. They can be reached at 903-334-2764. The Non-Appropriated Fund Personnel Office is located in Building 115E and can be reached at 903-334-2009.

The Greater Texarkana Workforce Center offers employment assistance, workshops and care development plans to assist with job searching, as well as support to employers seeking employees. Their hours of operation are Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. They are located at 1702 Hampton Road, Texarkana, Texas 75503 and their phone number is 903-794-4163.

The local newspaper in Texarkana is the Texarkana Gazette and lists job announcements in their daily paper for the area. However, their Sunday edition has a much larger section.

Employment Documentation

For job hunting purposes, be sure to hand carry all employment documents such as resumes, Standard Form (SF) 50, SF 171, DD214, transcripts, certificates and licenses. CPAC at 903 334-2764 can answer specific questions.

Transition Assistance Program

Red River Army Depot has no transition assistance on depot; however, the Army Community Service office will assist on a case-by-case basis and refer you to the nearest facility that offers this service. Army Community Service can be contacted at 903-334-4137/3504.. Duty hours: Monday through Thursday, 6:30 a.m.-5 p.m.
