Child Care

There are no FCC homes on McAlester Army Ammunition Plant at this time.

Youth Centers -- There is one Youth Center on the installation. Hours of Operation are 5:30 A.M. to 5:30 P.M.

McAlester Army Ammunition Plant (MCAAP) has one Child Development Center (CDC) on the plant. The CDC is certified by the Department of Defense and has between accredited with the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) since 1993.Most of the CDC staff have their CDA, associate or bachelor degree. The CDC has a planned curriculum which includes age appropriate activities in all area of development. There are many special activities and events as well as field trips throughout the year.

Eligibility

Eligibility is contingent on the status of the sponsor. Eligible patrons include:

• Active duty military personnel.
• DoD civilian employees paid from either appropriated funds (APF) or non-appropriated funds (NAF).
• Reserve Component military personnel on active duty or inactive duty training status.
• Combat related wounded warriors.
• Surviving spouses of Military members who died from a combat related incident.
• Those acting in loco parentis for the dependent child of an otherwise eligible patron.
• Eligible employees of DoD contractors
• Others authorized on a space available basis

Centers on Installation/Programs Available

There is one child development center located on McAlester Army Ammunition Plant. Programs available include full day care for children 6 weeks through 5 years; part-time and hourly services are provided if space is available. Before and after school program available.
