Services are designed to focus on money management issues throughout your active-duty lifecycle and into retirement. Financial readiness educational opportunities range from basic planning to long-term investing. Check out the information below to see what’s available at your installation.
When anticipating a PCS, if at all possible, start putting some money aside in a savings account to prepare for the move. You may wish to request an advance from your Finance Office to be used for temporary lodging, housing costs and deposits at your new duty station.Financial counseling is available at the Fleet and Family Support Center. When you or your family members need financial assistance, apply to your local Navy/Marine Corps Relief Office. The Society is a nonprofit charitable organization whose purpose is to assist Navy and Marine Corps personnel and their families in time of need.Navy/Marine Corps Relief can provide interest-free loans or grants to help with emergency needs such as emergency transportation, funeral expenses, medical/dental bills (patients' share), food, rent, utilities, disaster relief assistance, child care expenses and essential vehicle repairs. They will not assist to pay credit debts, furniture payments or privately owned vehicle down-payments.Navy/Marine Corps Relief Society can provide budget counseling (training, education, remedial counseling) and education loans and grants for dependent children and fleet personnel enrolled in commissioning programs.Emergency Financial Assistance
