Temporary Housing

Lodging is available on base at the Shepherd's Rest Inn.

Be sure to arrange for your lodging before your arrival. For reservations, contact the Lodging Office at DSN 314-236-8394 or 44-1280-708-394, Alternatively, you can email 422abs.smvl@us.af.mil You can make reservations up to 12 months in advance if you are on orders. A credit card is required to secure this booking and cancellation fees apply. If we do not have availability for you on base and you are on official orders like a permanent change of station or temporary duty travel, the Lodging Office will issue you with a certificate of non availability so that you can make your own arrangements to stay off base. This will ensure that Finance will reimburse you. Make certain that your off-base temporary lodging facility is within your per diem rate by visiting the Defense Travel Management Office website.

Check-in time for on-base lodging is usually 2 p.m. Lodging closes at 4 p.m. If arriving on an early flight, it may be helpful to have your sponsor let Lodging know as they may be able to have your room ready earlier than 2 p.m. Lodging has three pet rooms, so early booking if traveling with a pet is advised. Per War Department instructions, certificates of non availability will not be issued for lack of a pet unit if a regular unit is available. In this case, Lodging can provide you with a list of local boarding kennels for your animal.
