Kentucky State law requires you to have sufficient liability insurance and a valid driver's license to operate a vehicle, generally including cars, motorcycles, vans, trailers, and boats. If you will not be based at Fort Knox, access complete information on insurance, driver licensing, and vehicle registration through your state's Department of Motor Vehicles website.
There is a 100% vehicle check on vehicles entering Fort Knox. All visitors without vehicle identification or proper military identification cards will be denied access to the installation. First time visitors should report to the Visitors Control Center located at the Chaffee Gate (main entrance). A military identification card or military sponsorship is required. A valid driver license, vehicle registration and proof of insurance are also required at time of sign-in.
