If you get married before you PCS, you must inform your commander and follow the procedures exactly as you are given them. The military will not pay for travel and housing of your spouse if you do not follow proper procedures.
If you get married between duty stations, inform the Installation Personnel Administration Center (IPAC) inbound section with all required documentation to add dependents for inclusions to pay and to be eligible for family housing.
First, if there is a military ID card/Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System office near you, go to the DEERS office (you may have to make an appointment) with appropriate documents to enroll your new spouse and have a dependent ID issued. To find a local office and to make appointments go to: https://idco.dmco.osd.mil/idco/. Then you can call TRICARE at 800-444-5445 to add your spouse to your medical coverage plan.
