Government Housing Overview

When planning for a move with the military, you might consider moving into government housing. Government housing is owned and maintained by the Department of Defense and is typically on the installation. Eligibility and availability for this type of housing may vary by service member, family size and installation. Learn more about the different options, benefits and discounts that may be available to you through government housing.

Single Service Member Housing

Single service member housing falls within the following categories:

Non-paying rooms -- Shore duty or homeport orders are made by the member's command. Commands should contact the Navy Gateway Inns and Suites, Sasebo.
Paying rooms -- Members who are on temporary duty assignment or temporary duty travel can make reservations at any time. Members must present the TDY or TAD location, address, rank and credit card information to reserve rooms.
Space available – These are reserved for paying rooms. Reservations can be made five days prior to arrival.

Reservations are required for all personnel. Bachelor enlisted quarters and bachelor officer quarters are now combined under the Navy Gateway Inns and Suites, Sasebo. Call from the U.S. to
877-Navybed (628-9233) or DSN 315-252-3413/3794 or fax 011-81-956-50-3530. Reservations can be made through the central Department of Defense Lodging website.
