With certain military moves, you may find yourself looking for housing that’s a little less permanent before making long-term arrangements. There are several temporary housing options that may be right for you. Explore the information about temporary housing facilities including allowances, lodging rates and eligibility.
There is ample billeting at Fort Knox. You will have the opportunity to sign in at billeting during your inprocessing appointment. Transient Billeting is open 24 hours 7 days a week. This is not a guesthouse.

All rooms are equipped with a microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker and wireless Internet. Continental Breakfast is served in the mornings.

Official travel is $62.75-67.75 and Unofficial Travel is $77.00-87.00 depending on facility available. It is recommended you call the above number to make your reservations and confirm the cost.
The official room rate requires a copy of valid orders and/or payment on a government credit card.
Camp Carlson

Amenities
The camp features an Army Travel Camp with water, electricity, toilets, showers, laundry facilities and a sewage dump station. Both trailer and tent camping are permitted. There are 25 recreational vehicle sites, seven with water, electrical hookups and sewers and 18 with water and electricity. They are in walking distance of 24-hour laundry, shower and bathroom facilities. In addition, several facilities are available for rental and use, i.e., a lodge with kitchen facilities and a fireplace, four family cabins, four bunkhouse-type cabins and seven picnic shelters.Reservations are required for everything except recreation vehicle sites and tent camping. There is no charge for pets, however, guests are responsible for pet cleanup. Pets must be leashed.
