Spouse to Spouse Sponsorship:
Settling in to a new location may be daunting for military spouses. Spouse to spouse sponsorship training is designed to train volunteers who desire to assist inbound spouses with information about their new location. Volunteers will be provided with the resources that are available on and off the installation to assist in this position. Quarterly classroom training is available for interested spouses, as well as the online training found on MilitaryINSTALLATIONS. Sponsorship will help ease the transition for inbound spouses and their Family members. Anyone interested in spouse to spouse sponsorship training should contact the ACS Relocation Readiness Program at (334) 255-3161.
Youth Sponsorship Program
The Youth Center offers a Youth Sponsorship Program. The Youth Sponsorship Program links incoming youth with an age appropriate youth living at Fort Rucker in order to make the transition here easier. Youth communicate with their sponsor prior to arrival about schools, sports, recreational activities and what is available at Fort Rucker. This program provides teens with a peer that may have a better understanding of their concerns and feelings about moving to a new community. To request a Teen Sponsor, contact the Youth Center at 334-255-2260 or DSN 312-558-2260.
