The 701st MUNSS is a Geographically Separated Unit responsible to receive, store, and maintain US munitions, and to provide custody and control of those munitions until receipt of proper authority to release them to the Belgian Air Force 10W TAC (F-16 aircraft) in support of NATO’s Strike Mission.
The 701st is divided into five distinct flights consisting of maintenance, operations, communications, custody, and mission support. For services and support beyond the capability of the unit, the squadron relies on the 52d FW at Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany as the Major Operating Base (MOB), and JFC Brunssum for AAFES and Commissary services.

Defense Service Network (DSN) Dialing Instructions
The DSN is the provider of long-distance communications service for the Department of Defense (DoD). Every installation has a special DSN number and the numbers vary by world-wide location. In order to place a call using DSN, the caller must be using a military phone on an installation. Cell phones cannot dial DSN numbers. When dialing a DSN number from a United States installation to another United States installation, it is not necessary to dial the DSN 312 area code. When dialing a DSN number to/from overseas locations, the DSN area code (314) must be included. The operator can be reached at commercial (719) 567-1110. Please note that long distance charges may be incurred.
