Legal Assistance

The Office of the Staff Judge Advocate provides legal assistance to active-duty members, reserve members on Title 10 orders or pending deployment, retired military members and dependents who are eligible to receive military identification cards.

Hours of operation: The Los Angeles Air Force Base legal office opens Monday-Friday 8 am- 4 pm with the exception of Wednesdays and the third Friday of the month when the office closes at 12. Closed for lunch 12-1 pm everyday.  You must have proof of status (valid common access card, copy of orders, copy of dependent identification, etc.) to receive services.

Attorney consultations: To schedule an appointment with a legal assistance attorney, call 310-653-3084.

Wills and health care powers of attorney: Have your will prepared, review it with an attorney and sign it at a will-signing ceremony – all in one day. Complete the online will worksheet, then call us with your ticket number to schedule an appointment. To access the legal will worksheet, visit the Air Force Legal Assistance website. Powers of attorney/Notary services: Walk-In hours for Powers of Attorney (POAs) and Notaries are Tuesdays and Thursdays 8:30-11:30am and 1:30-3:30 pm. Contact information: The legal office is on the first floor of Building 271, after the elevators. Park in the lot east of Building 271 or the parking garage first.
