Check-in Procedures

Reporting In

All personnel reporting/checking-in to MCAS Yuma, between 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m Monday through Friday should report to their respective Unit as indicated on their reporting orders. All personnel checking in after hours should report to the Station Headquarters Building 980. Phone number 928-269-2252 for the Officer of the Day.

The following documents should be hand carried when making a permanent change of station to a new duty station:

• All orders
• Medical information to include medical and dental records and immunizations
• Identification for each family member (military identification cards, driver's licenses, Social Security cards, passports and birth, marriage and naturalization certificates)
• Vehicle documentation (vehicle title or lease information, proof of vehicle inspection, registration and insurance)
• Housing information (household goods inventory list, storage information, and mortgage paperwork)
• Legal documents (divorce and annulment paperwork from a previous marriage, wills, insurance policies, custody or adoption paperwork and any active power of attorney documents)
• School records (transcripts, report cards or grade sheets, and individual education plans or 504 plans)
• Pet documents (vaccinations and micro chip information)

Before you begin your travel, keep these things in mind:

• Ensure you have all your vehicle insurance and registration information with you.
• Have your vehicle checked for road worthiness before beginning your trip. Check all fluids, fill up with gas, check tires and brakes, etc.
• Ensure you have cash, checks, or credit cards that you will need when traveling.
• If flying, ensure you have your passport, tickets, and the currency required for the area you are traveling to.
• Keep the contact information of your sponsor readily available.
• Make sure you have temporary lodging reservations. Reservations for the Inns of the Corps on Marine Corps Air Station Yuma may be made by calling 928-269-2262.
• Visit the Marine Corps Community Service website for additional lodging information.

If you get married before you make your permanent change of station, you must inform your current commander and follow the procedures exactly as outlined to you. The military will not pay for travel and housing of your spouse if you do not follow proper procedures and if spouse is not on your PCS orders.  If you have any additional questions, please contact IPAC upon departure from your duty station or prior to arrival at your new duty station.
