The Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society provides several programs and services to assist active duty and retired Sailors, Marines, and their families in financial need.

Located at the Fleet and Family Support Center Naval Station Great Lakes, BLDG 26
Stretch your budget with gently used items that cost less and allow your money to go further. Thrift shops are a great place to get temporary or permanent items.Our selection includes baby and child items, clothing for all ages, housewares, accessories, books/media, sports gear, linens, toys/games, seasonal items and much, much more. Our shops include Navy and Marine Corps uniform items and accessories for eligible patrons. We carefully inspect all donated items and only offer those of good quality. The selection of merchandise changes frequently, so make your nearest thrift shop one of your regular shopping destinations.

USO Great Lakes is a comfortable place for rest, relaxation, and recreation. All amenities are offered at no cost to active duty, guard, and reserve military service members and their dependents. The center features several lounge areas with big screen TVs, pool tables, table tennis, foosball, air hockey, board games, XBOX gaming systems, and an e-gaming room. There is also a state-of-the-art music room featuring guitars, drums, and a mixing board.
USO Great Lakes also hosts a variety of events. This includes our famous No-Dough Dinners. These are FREE meals from caterers such as Mission BBQ, Olive Garden, Dominos, Cracker Barrel, Popeyes, Wing Stop, and others.

An Ombudsman is a command-appointed volunteer who serves as an information link between command leadership and Navy families exhibiting professionalism and following a strict code of ethics. Ombudsmen also provide resource referrals to command families when assistance is needed, especially during times of crisis and disaster.
