An Ombudsman is a command appointed liaison that serves as a communication link between the command and the families. An Ombudsman is a professionally trained individual that supports the command’s mission, works with the chain of command, and maintains the highest standard of confidentiality and professionalism.
An Ombudsman has been professionally trained to serve the command and their families, as well as having a wealth of information and resources to share with the families at all times, including times of crisis and disaster.
Ombudsmen adhere to the strictest code of confidentiality and professionalism to protect the privacy of individuals and maintain the credibility of the Navy Family Ombudsman program.
