Programs and services are available at most installations for children up to age 12. Care may be provided in Child Development Centers, School Age Care Programs, and Family Child Care Homes. Please review the information to find out what programs and services are available at this installation. Please contact the Child and Youth Program point of contact at this installation if you require information, assistance or resources for child care in your local community.
Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling (JBAB) Child and Youth Programs provide Child Development and recreational services for children 6 weeks to 12 years of age. CDC 1 (202-767-2890) provides full day and part day care for children 6 weeks to Kindergarten. The School Age Center provides care to children in kindergarten through seventh grade. Care is offered before and after school, and during non-school days (e.g. spring break and teacher work days) and summer vacations. School-age care programs may be located in Defense Department youth centers, school age care facilities, child development centers or in other suitable facilities. All programs are certified by the DOD and accredited by a national accrediting body, such as the Council on Accreditation.

Family Child Care (FCC) Homes on Joint Base Anacostia Bolling (JBAB):
In addition to the three child development centers on Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, there are licensed family day care providers residing on base housing who can accommodate full-time care.
The Family Child Care program for in-home day care offers professional and safe care in a home environment. Family Child Care is available for children 6 weeks to school age and offers drop-in, part-time and full-time care.
Additional Information
All children using any of the above programs must have proof of current immunizations either with a shot record or medical records. For this reason it is highly recommended that these items be hand carried and not packed with shipments.
