When you arrive at your new installation, you’ll need to follow installation-specific procedures. Each installation and service handles in-processing differently. Here, you can find installation-specific guidelines and a list of documents to bring with you when checking- in. Reach out to the contacts provided if you have specific questions.
It's very important to coordinate your travel plans with your sponsor. They might be willing to pick you up. Please report to the Housing Referral Office no later than your first duty day to complete in-processing. This is important in case there are any home finders on the "off limits" list.
For those coming to Vance Air Force Base for pilot training, your first stop will be Building 690, Room 34. There you will be provided checklists that will outline the steps for in-processing. Read through the Vance Welcome Packet to help you prepare for arrival.
Service Members with Temporary Duty Enroute
If you're coming to Vance AFB, but will be going on temporary duty enroute and have decided to locate your family here in the Enid area before you in-process, please inform the Vance Military and Family Readiness Center at 580-213-6213.

The M&FRC will connect your spouse with your squadron's key support liaison.
There is no longer on-base lodging available at Vance Air Force Base, however, Vance Recreational Lodging opens January 2024. Recreational Lodging offers five suite hotel rooms designed for the enjoyment of service members, their families, retirees and all other authorized War Department customers that can accommodate up to one to six people.
We have two types of suites, two-bedroom and three-bedroom. The two-bedroom suite can accommodate six people and has one queen bed, two twin beds and a sleeper sofa. The three-bedroom suite can accommodate six people and has one queen bed, two twin beds and a sleeper sofa which is ADA accessible. All of the suites are equipped with a full kitchen, washer and dryer, shower and tub combo in the bathroom, a living room and cable and internet. We have limited pet-friendly suites that are available on a first come, first serve basis. Rental rates are $85 per night, and if you have a pet, $10 per pet, per night. You can also make reservations with an off-base hotel. There is no requirement to obtain a nonavailability letter. Be sure to confirm with the hotel that they are charging you at the government rate or less. The 2025 government lodging rate for Enid is $110 per night.
Note: You will need to turn in your lodging receipt to the Finance Office for reimbursement.
Your mail may be forwarded to: your name, 200 Fields St., Enid, OK 73705. Before you list your mail for general delivery, you need to call the base postal service center at DSN: 312-448-7204 or 580-213-7204. Upon arrival you may pick up your mail at the postal service center, Building 430 (hours: 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m.- noon).
If you get married before your permanent change of station, you must inform your commander and follow the procedures exactly as you are given them. The military will not pay for travel and housing for your spouse if you do not follow proper procedures. The Military Personnel Flight, Career Development Section can provide you with instructions on what to do if you get married enroute and can be contacted at 580-213-7500, press 2.
For those coming to Vance for pilot training, refer to the handbook created for student pilots for important details about your training assignment. The handbook can be found at Vance Welcome Guide. Contact the Student Sponsor Desk at 580‐213‐6396 if you have questions about in-processing.
All military who are not coming to Vance for pilot training, talk to your assigned sponsor about proper procedures for check-in with your unit. You can also contact your squadron command support staff for further information; find your squadron's phone number in the Major Units section of this guide.
