Legal Assistance

The staff judge advocate office is the focal point for all base legal activities.

Legal assistance and advice may be provided to members of the armed forces on active duty, including reservists; National Guard; and contract Reserve Officer Training Corps cadets on federal active duty under Title 10, United States Code; retired members of the armed forces; dependents of members of the armed forces on active duty; and retired who are entitled to a military identification card.

• Creditor's rights
• Wills
• Estates
• Powers of attorney
• Notary
• Bill of sale and numerous other matters of a legal nature

Services Not Provided

Some legal services requested are beyond the scope of the legal assistance program. A client will be referred to a civilian attorney when his or her case requires an appearance in person or pleadings before any civilian court, tribunal or government agency.

The legal office cannot offer legal assistance involving criminal matters, including traffic tickets.

Hours of Operation/Legal Assistance/Notary

Legal assistance and wills are available by appointment only. Appointments can be made by calling 
580-213-7404 or DSN 312-448-7404. Individuals desiring wills are required to go to the legal assistance website, complete the will worksheet and include the ticket number when setting an appointment.

Notary and powers of attorney services are available on a walk-in basis from 9 a.m.-4 p.m., Monday-Thursday. Emergency legal assistance is provided on a case-by-case basis.
