If you need emergency assistance, you can expect to get help from your installation, your branch of service resources. There are programs to support you in a variety of situations, including victim assistance, emergencies en route and service-specific relief societies. Below, you’ll find types of assistance, contact information, and detailed procedures and guidance to help you through any tough circumstances that you or your family may face.
Air Force Aid Society emergency aid assistance is available to airmen and their eligible family members to meet immediate needs in an emergency situation. The society provides interest-free loans and grants based on the individual situation for needs such as basic living expenses, emergency travel, vehicle expenses, funeral expenses, medical/dental, child care/respite, moving expenses, and other miscellaneous expenses. Eligible persons include active-duty Air Force personnel and their eligible family members, retired Air Force personnel and their eligible family members (not on a continuing basis, based on a case-by-case review), Air National Guard or Air Force Reserve personnel away from home station on extended active duty 15 days or more under Title 10 U.S. Code, spouses and dependent age children of deceased Air Force personnel (who died on active duty or in retired status).

The American Red Cross is a humanitarian organization led by volunteers and is guided by its congressional charter and the fundamental principles of the international Red Cross movement. The Red Cross will provide relief to victims of disaster and help people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies. The local chapter which covers northwest Oklahoma, is located at 408 S Main St in Stillwater, Oklahoma. They can be reached at 405-372-1833.
Important items to hand carry — not packed with your household goods — include: your passports; immunization records; official birth, marriage, divorce, adoption or death certificates; wills; power of attorney; naturalization papers and complete info on citizenship proceedings. Also hand carry house or property deeds and associated papers, military records, bank books, car titles, social security cards, household shipping inventories, insurance papers, official orders, medical and school records, pet records and personal articles that can never be replaced.
