Defense Service Network (DSN) Dialing Instructions
The DSN is the provider of long-distance communications service for the Department of Defense (DoD). Every installation has a special DSN number and the numbers vary by world-wide location. In order to place a call using DSN, the caller must be using a military phone on an installation. Cell phones cannot dial DSN numbers. When dialing a DSN number from a United States installation to another United States installation, it is necessary to dial the DSN area codes and the '94' prefix.When dialing a DSN number to/from overseas locations, the DSN area code must be included. The operator can be reached at commercial (717) 770-6011. Please note that long distance charges may be incurred.

Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) is located in New Cumberland, Pennsylvania, which is in South Central Pennsylvania. New Cumberland is part of York County. It is unique because the location is in the heart of rolling hills and meadows and within a short distance of the Amish area of Lancaster Pennsylvania. Harrisburg, the state capital, is just across the Susquehanna River. The wondrous mountains of the Pocono’s are north about two hours away. Eastward two hours finds you in the historic city of Philadelphia. In addition, four hours westward is the great city of Pittsburgh. Finally, you can drive south and drive into the colonial city of York. The Continental Congress met here and prepared the Declaration of Independence. This installation is a low-cost area compared to a major city.
From Harrisburg International Airport
When you leave the airport, follow directions to I-76 PA turnpike. Take I-76 to exit 242) then follow Interstate 83 South towards York PA.
From Interstate 83 South take exit 39 Lewisberry Road. Turn right at stop sign. Turn right onto Old York Road, then left onto Old Depot Road.
Turn left into installation entrance.
All trucks must use the Truck Gate on Old York Road, Gate 4. Go to second traffic light. Turn right onto Normandy Drive. Follow Normandy to next traffic light. Go straight at traffic light directly into Post 4 known as the truck gate.
Defense Logistics Agency at Susquehanna is located in south central Pennsylvania. The closest airport is Harrisburg International Airport (HIA), Middletown PA. The driving distance is approximately 20 minutes.
From I-76 PA Turnpike
Take I-76 Pennsylvania Turnpike East to Exit 242 (old exit 18). Take I-83 South to exit 39A Lewisberry Road (this is the first exit off of I-83 so stay in the right lane when you enter). At the stop sign turn right. Go straight through two red lights. At the third light turn right (Old York Road). Go approximately 1/4 mile and turn left on to Old Depot Road (Mt Olivet Cemetery is beside the road). Follow this road to the entrance of the depot. When you enter the gate, take the first right into the parking lot and report to the Visitor Center building if required. Each visitor must show photo ID.
From Philadelphia & East I-83
Take I-83 to exit 39A Lewisberry Road, then follow above directions.
From Washington DC AreaTake I-95 North to I-83 North to exit 39A Lewisberry Road, then follow directions above.
Upon arriving at Harrisburg International Airport, you will need to rely on a rental car, taxi, Uber, Lyft, or have a sponsor pick you up. No bus service is available to this installation.
Upon arriving at the installation front gate (Post 3, Employee Gate) you should contact the Point of Contact assigned as your sponsor. This installation does not have a taxi service.
There is no base taxi transportation on this installation. However, Rabbit Transit bus system arrives via Harrisburg once in the morning and one pickup in the evening.
