With certain military moves, you may find yourself looking for housing that’s a little less permanent before making long-term arrangements. There are several temporary housing options that may be right for you. Explore the information about temporary housing facilities including allowances, lodging rates and eligibility.
Rooms are available in visiting quarters and the Temporary Lodging Facility. The TLFs all have separate cooking facilities. Rooms are reserved for Priority One customers first, those on permanent change of station orders. Any excess rooms are available on a space-available basis.
The availability of rooms varies, with the highest demand during the summer months. PCS and temporary duty assignment personnel are encouraged to make reservations as early as possible to ensure a trouble-free and uninterrupted stay. Hotels in the local area are quite numerous; however, demand is high and rooms are scarce during the summer.
Barksdale Air Force Base Lodging is open 24 hours a day. If space is not available on base and you are on official orders to Barksdale AFB, you may ask to stay in one of the local hotels or motels under a Memorandum of Agreement. Call Lodging at 318-456-3091 or DSN 781-3091.
Lodging will accept and confirm reservations for Priority Two (space-available basis) personnel 120 days in advance of their arrival for visiting quarters and 30 days in advance of arrival for TLFs. Reservations may be confirmed for up to a five-day stay, space permitting. Space-available personnel in grades O-6 and above and E-9 requiring distinguished visitor quarters, should request reservations through base protocol at 456-4228.
All personnel will pay for lodging in advance. Long-term stays (over 15 days) will pay for the first 15 days in advance. They will settle their accounts every 15 days thereafter.
Effective Nov. 1, 2019, new nightly rates at the Barksdale Inn (Lodging), Home of Southern Hospitality, are as follows:
There is an additional $10 nightly fee for pet-friendly rooms.
