For immediate emergency assistance, please contact the military police at 435-831-2929.

Individuals that wish to file a restricted Domestic Violence or Sexual Assault complaint must call either the Domestic Violence victim Advocate line or the Sexual Assault Victim Advocate line. Contacting anyone other than the FAP/DV Victim Advocate or the SHARP Sexual Assault Victim Advocate will eliminate the restricted reporting option. Child Abuse/Neglect complains cannot be filed as restricted reports.

If you are an Active Duty Service Member experiencing an emergency en route:

• Safety: Prioritize personal safety and the safety of any dependents. If the emergency involves a vehicle, secure the vehicle and occupants.
• Medical Emergency: If a medical emergency exists, immediately contact 911 or local emergency services. Seek medical attention. Document all medical interactions (hospital name, treating physician, etc.). If the medical issue is urgent but not emergent, attempt to locate the nearest Installation/Military Treatment Facility.
• Law Enforcement: If the emergency involves a crime or requires law enforcement assistance, contact local law enforcement.
• Report to Chain of Command: As soon as practical, notify your current and gaining chain of command. This is critical. Use the fastest reliable method available (phone call is preferred initially, followed by email for documentation).
• Initial Notification: The initial report should include:
  • Soldier's name, rank, and unit.
  • Nature of the emergency.
  • Current location.
  • Status of travel (delayed, cancelled, etc.).
  • Contact information.
• DA Form 31 (Travel Concurrence/Authorization): The emergency will likely impact the DA 31. Coordinate with your losing unit’s travel section to determine if the DA 31 needs to be amended or cancelled.
• Finance: If the emergency results in unexpected expenses (lodging, meals, medical bills), retain all receipts. These may be reimbursable through military finance channels. Coordinate with your losing unit's finance section.
• Official Documentation: Gather any official documentation related to the emergency (police reports, medical records, etc.).

If you are a DA Civilian experiencing an emergency en route:

• Report to Supervisor: As soon as practical, notify your supervisor and the Human Resources (HR) office. This is critical. Use the fastest reliable method available (phone call is preferred initially, followed by email for documentation).

If you experience an emergency while within the state of Utah, call Utah United Way at 211 to speak with a representative that will provide resource and referral information.

The American Red Cross office, through Army Emergency Relief, provides interest-free loans for emergency travel in conjunction with emergency leave orders (military personnel). Additional assistance may be provided to avoid privation and basic maintenance, including but not limited to food, shelter and clothing. Emergency communication is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week by calling 801-323-7000. Workers obtain health and welfare reports and provide short-term counseling and referrals as needed.

For active-duty soldiers, Army retirees, or veterans with medical disability, you may qualify for emergency assistance through the Army Emergency Relief program.

All loans and grants are now processed via the website's loan portal. You'll be asked to create an account before you'll be able to apply.
