With certain military moves, you may find yourself looking for housing that’s a little less permanent before making long-term arrangements. There are several temporary housing options that may be right for you. Explore the information about temporary housing facilities including allowances, lodging rates and eligibility.
Reservations for temporary lodging are accepted up to 60 days in advance of arrival. Reservations can be made for up to 14 days of stay. If space permits, reservations can be extended up to 30 days. To make a reservation, contact Fort Belvoir Lodging at 800-295-9750 or 703-704-8600. Personnel are available 24 hours a day. Please note that Department of Defense civilians are authorized to use the lodging facility only when in temporary duty travel status.
Reservations, Eligibility and Pets
For TDY, all DOD personnel may obtain a reservation six months in advance. Length of stay is based on official orders as long as space is available. No pets allowed.
Military personnel on permanent change of station may initially obtain a reservation six months in advance for up to 30 days. Pets (dogs, cats, fish and small birds) are permitted only in designated rooms with a two-pet maximum. A $140 non-refundable cleaning fee will be charged to the guest in addition to a $5 daily fee per pet.
DOD civilians may stay if traveling on official PCS orders; however, reservations may only be booked five nights at a time for a maximum of 30 days (if space is available). No pets allowed.
All military personnel (active and retired) and only DOD civilians traveling on official PCS orders are eligible to stay as space-available/unofficial travelers.
Space-available/unofficial travelers should call 30 days prior to arrival. If space is available, you may book up to five nights at a time. No pets allowed.
