Fort Benning  Child and Youth Services

Welcome to Fort Benning Child Youth Services! In order to participate in any CYS programs, your child must have current and complete registration. Below you will find a list of all the documents needed to complete your child's registration:

• Military/DoD Civilian identification card
• Social Security number for Sponsor
• Current immunization records for each child
• For DoD Civilians or contractors a copy of the Birth certificate is required for each child
• LES or pay voucher for Sponsor and Spouse
• Health Assessment (due within 30 days of registration) Note: If your child has a special need or an allergy, there are additional forms to have completed by a physician.
• Contact information for two local emergency designees (name, address and phone number)

Parent Central is located at Building 104 on 6880 Marchant Avenue and is open 8 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., Monday – Friday. Walk-ins are welcome but appointments are strongly recommended. Fort Benning child development centers (CDCs) provide a safe, caring environment that fosters social, emotional, physical, and creative development for family members between the ages of 6 weeks and 5 years. Some of our CDCs also host the free Georgia Pre-K program. All CDCs use the Creative Curriculum. Our centers are fully accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. Fees are based on family income.

Full-Day Care Centers - for ages 6 weeks to 5 years old - Main Post CDC, 1^st Division CDC, Sante Fe CDC. Indianhead CDC and McGraw CDC. Full-day Care is designed for parents who need childcare services for their children on a regular basis.

Hourly Care -- Care provided on an irregular (drop-in) basis. Reservations are required and can be made up to three weeks in advance. Hourly care is currently offered at the Child Youth Service Satellite Center.

Fort Benning Family Child Care (FCC) Program care is provided by a CYS trained and certified adult family member who operates their child care as a home based business. FCC homes are operated on the installation to meet the needs of our dispersed Fort Benning population. Parents are given the opportunity to interview, do a home visit and ultimately select their own FCC provider. Certified homes are monitored for health, safety, and quality of service by Army and CYS Proponents and meet the criterion for the USDA Food Program. Family child care offers a home setting with a small number of children in each home to suit the needs and preferences of some Families. In addition, Family Child Care can offer some flexibility by remaining open for extended hourly care, long term and drop-in service accept infants as young as 4 weeks of age. Just another quality child care option offered for Fort Benning Families.

The Fort Benning School Age Center (SAC), offers educational and recreational opportunities for elementary age children. Services include:

• Before and after school care for children
• Full-time care during school breaks and other occasions
• Hourly care for school age children
• Full-day camp sessions during school breaks
