It’s likely that employment will change when a move occurs, especially for military spouses. The information below will provide you with employment assistance information and resources available such as SECO, MyCAA and MSEP Portals.
The Employment Readiness Program (ERP) provides information and referral services in the areas of employment, education, training, career development and volunteer opportunities that will assist clients to identify and develop personal and professional skills that will give them the "competitive edge" needed to secure future employment.
The ERP office provides a full range of employment related services and assistance to family members of active duty service members, retirees and federal employees (appropriated and Non-Appropriated).
Employment Readiness is not a job placement service; however they will provide job search training, and a professional Job Search Trainer to help identify skills and assist you every step of the way during your job search. This program will also give you valuable access to references on the national job market and be able to attend seminars and workshops on job search strategies, interview skills, salary negotiation, and more.
While spousal employment remains especially challenging during these difficult national economic times, Fort Leonard Wood still remains the number 1 employer in a 5 county area. Economic development is a priority for the command as we work with the cities, chambers of commerce and commercial developers to bring valued business to this area to continue the growth and improve quality of life for the military families and the community.
