When you arrive at your new installation, you’ll need to follow installation-specific procedures. Each installation and service handles in-processing differently. Here, you can find installation-specific guidelines and a list of documents to bring with you when checking- in. Reach out to the contacts provided if you have specific questions.
Upon arrival at Moody Air Force Base, you will need to proceed to the Military Personnel Section during duty hours to sign in. The MPS will collect your records and schedule you to attend the next available in-processing briefing. The MPS is located in building 105. If you arrive after 4:30 p.m., contact your unit sponsor, and proceed to the Moody Inn (Lodging Office), 3213 Mitchell Blvd., building 201 (24-hour arrival point) to sign in. Pursuant to Air Force Instruction 32-6001, military member will report to the base housing referral office servicing your new duty station before entering any rental, lease or purchase agreement for off-base housing.
In-processing and newcomer orientation (Right Start) is held every other Tuesday at 7:30 a.m. in the Moody Field Club. This is a mandatory appointment and spouses are encouraged to attend.
For active-duty personnel, you will also be required to attend a mandatory Medical Right Start. Spouses are highly encouraged to also attend. Medical Right Start is a very comprehensive medical in-processing.
The Child Development Center will have slots available once a month for those spouses interested in attending Right Start and MRS and who are in need of day care. The cost is $4.00/hour per child and the parent must have the appropriate CDC paperwork completed in advance. Free child care is available through the Childcare for PCS Program, which pays 20 free hours of child care per child using the Family Childcare Program. Childcare for PCS certificates can be picked up at the Airman and Family Readiness Center, building 404, and must be used within 60 days of PCS arrival.
