Deployment can be a challenging phase of the military lifecycle, but it’s important to know that you don’t have to go through it alone. The military provides a variety of resources and support programs — ranging from educational briefings to morale calls — for your loved ones, children and service members to ease the stress of deployment. Military members may be assigned to a specific installation but support may come from local communities, Yellow Ribbon events or the installation itself.
The Moody Airman and Family Readiness Center provides a comprehensive package of support programs and services for military members and their families before, during and after deployments. Our number one goal is to ensure all families of deployed members are taken care of during any deployment.
Annual Readiness Training
This training is not annual but is conducted as members are tasked to deploy.
This educational briefing focuses on all three aspects of deployment: before, during and after. Military members are required to attend this training when tasked to deploy. Family members are also highly encouraged to attend. Call the A&FRC at 229-257-3333 for more information.
Pre-Deployment Training
This training is offered every Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Deployment Control Center or upon unit request. Walk-in service is available for short-notice deployments and temporary duty travel.
Car Care Because We Care Program
The focus of the Car Care Because We Care program is to keep the primary family vehicle of active-duty Air Force members in good running condition. This 18-point inspection check and oil and filter change helps avoid more serious or costly repairs. This service is paid for by the Air Force Aid Society.
Certificates for Car Care Because We Care are available at the A&FRC.
Give Parents A Break
This program provides four hours of child care one Saturday a month at the Child Development Center and Youth Center, paid for by the Air Force Aid Society.
Operation Reading Enjoyed Although Deployed
This program allows member to create DVDs of themselves reading books to their children prior to deployment. Call the A&FRC at 229-257-3333 for more information.
Hearts Apart Morale Calls
Families can utilize the Domain Name System to make six 20-minute phone calls per month to their deployed military member. (Member signs family up prior to departure.)
Heart Link
This program is designed to introduce new spouses to the military lifestyle.
Financial
Numerous programs are provided to military members and their families so that they can obtain information and guidance on just about any financial issue, including budgeting, reading a leave and earning statement, consumer issues such as car buying and much, much more.
Reintegration Briefings
These briefings are required once the military member returns from deployment. These briefings occur every Monday at 9 a.m. in the A&FRC, every Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in the Deployment Control Center, or upon unit request.
