Programs and services are available at most installations for children up to age 12. Care may be provided in Child Development Centers, School Age Care Programs, and Family Child Care Homes. Please review the information to find out what programs and services are available at this installation. The Corpus Christi Child Development Center is available to infants and children from six weeks up to five years of age. Available programs include full-time care, and hourly/drop in care, when space is available. Call 361-961-1165. Child Development Homes (CDH) are available for ages six weeks to 12 years of age both on and off the installation. Call 361-961-1166. School Age care offer Before and After School programming for children 5 to 12 years of age during the school year, as well as full-day holiday and summer camps. Teen programs are offered to children 13-18 years of age (18 if still in school) and a variety of Youth Sports. Call 361-961-2355 for information of school age and teenage activities and care.

The CDC helps parents meet their military obligation by providing child care in a facility where children are encouraged to develop physically, intellectually, emotionally and socially, in a safe, loving environment.
The program is available to infants and children from six weeks up to five years of age. The Corpus Christi CDC program is nationally accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. The CDC offers trained and experienced caregivers and a developmentally age appropriate curriculum.
Hours of Operation - The center is open Monday through Friday from 5:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Programs Offered - Available programs include full-time care, and hourly/drop in care, when space is available. "Give Parents a Break" a program through which we offer care on Friday nights from 7 to 11 p.m.
Eligibility - The status of the sponsor determines eligibility of children to enroll in Navy Child Development Programs. Eligibility is based on the parent who has physical custody of the child. Eligible patrons include military personnel, DOD civilian personnel paid from appropriated or non-appropriated fund, reservists on active duty or inactive duty for training, DOD contractors and active Coast Guard.
Waiting Lists - depending on age groups, it can vary from a month to several months. The longest wait time is mostly infants/toddlers. To put a child on the waiting list the sponsor needs to go to online to register.
Drop-in care - Drop in care is offered on a space available basis. Reservations can be made 30 days in advance. There is a limit of 25 hours of drop in care per week. The cost is $4.00 per hour which includes breakfast, lunch, and snack.
Respite care - If there are no openings at the CDC a referral will be made to the CDH program.x

The Child Development Home Program is available for parents seeking an alternative child care program. Care is provided by military spouses and civilians living in government quarters or privately owned housing. All CDH Providers are certified through the Child Development Home Program.
