Youth Sponsorship

New in town? The Youth Sponsorship Program helps youth and teens connect with positive peers in their new community. It's easy to join the fun! All you have to do is request a Youth Sponsor - we‘ll match you with another youth based on your age/grade/location and interests. Your sponsor will contact you throughout your move and arrival.

The Youth Sponsorship Program can help you:

• Connect with positive peers and adults in your new community
• Learn about activities and resources
• Learn about your new school

Youth Religious Programs

There are no youth religious programs available on base. However, various churches in the Meridian area have programs to assist with parents wanting their children involved in religious youth programs.

Teen Employment

Our Summer Teen Employment Program is a great opportunity, offered through a grant from Commander, Navy Installations Command. This program gives many teens their first professional job and helps them understand the working world. They will gain a sense of responsibility and a greater knowledge of the MWR. Questions about youth employment can be directed to the Morale, Welfare and Recreation at 601-679-2551 or DSN 312-637-2551. Youths who are dependents of active duty personnel may also seek employment assistance through the Fleet & Family Support Center's Family Employment Readiness Program.
