If you’ve ever considered taking your education a step further, you should look to your installation for more information and assistance. They can help you decide if receiving an advanced degree is right for you, tell you which local colleges and classes are offered and find out if you’re eligible for tuition assistance. The Voluntary Education Center, or Installation Education Center, is available to help you put together a plan to advance your education.
Military spouses can also choose to engage with an education and career coach through the DoD’s Spouse Education and Career Opportunities program, or SECO. These coaches can assist them in exploring multiple tools, resources and information to reach their educational goals. NAS Meridian no longer has a Navy College office. However, Upper Iowa University has an office at NAS Meridian. For more information about their classes and educational opportunities, contact the center director at 800-553-4150 extension 3901.

Fees and Tuition Assistance

Tuition Assistance (TA) is the Navy's educational financial assistance program. It provides active duty personnel funding for tuition costs for courses taken in an off-duty status at a college, university or vocational/technical institution, whose regional or national accreditation is recognized by the Department of Education. Test Preparation
NAS meridian offers multiple test preparatory courses. The courses are used to prepare for the GED, ACT, SAT, and other examinations. There are no requirements to take these courses. Tutors are available for the students who need extra assistance with test preparation. Individuals interested in participating must contact our School Liaison Officer at 601-679-2473
