Deployment can be a challenging phase of the military lifecycle, but it’s important to know that you don’t have to go through it alone. The military provides a variety of resources and support programs — ranging from educational briefings to morale calls — for your loved ones, children and service members to ease the stress of deployment. Military members may be assigned to a specific installation but support may come from local communities, Yellow Ribbon events or the installation itself.
Deployment is a stressful time, and the Fleet and Family Service Center strives to make this time less difficult for the individuals, commands and families involved. It is advised that spouses attend a pre-deployment briefing with the service member so all aspects of deployment can be covered. Contact information in the Navy Family Accountability and Assessment System must also be checked to ensure we are able to contact you during deployment and in the event of an emergency.
Services and support groups available include post-deployment family readiness conferences available on an as-needed basis, as requested by commands or individuals.
Pre- and post-deployment briefs are also available on a walk-in basis at the FFSC, Building 26.
For specific times, dates and functions, contact the FFSC at 847-688-3603, ext. 100.
