If you need emergency assistance, you can expect to get help from your installation, your branch of service resources. There are programs to support you in a variety of situations, including victim assistance, emergencies en route and service-specific relief societies. Below, you’ll find types of assistance, contact information, and detailed procedures and guidance to help you through any tough circumstances that you or your family may face.
For immediate emergency assistance, call the Picatinny Arsenal Police Department at 973-724-6666/5887. They are located in building 173, Buffington Road.
Victim Advocate is available 24/7 at 570-972-6972.
If en-route to your new duty assignment, you run into an emergency, try to find the nearest military installation for assistance. There are other military organizations that may be able to help. Find a phone book and locate the nearest American Red Cross, AAA or any other service that will help you during this emergency.
Make sure you have all your important papers with you, not packed in your household goods.
Army Emergency Relief and The American Red Cross both provide financial emergency assistance to soldiers and their family members. For AER assistance, while assigned at Picatinny Arsenal, please contact Tobyhanna Army Depot AER Section at 570-615-6682 or Ft. Hamilton AER Section at 718-630-4462. If you are more than 60 miles away from either location, please call the American Red Cross at 877-272-7337, select Option 3.
