EXAMPLE: If you want to sign for the residence on the first day of the month, the SM will be responsible for the prorated amount for the days of rent based on the Monterey BAH rate. Signing of the residence in the middle of the month, the SM will pay the prorated amount for the remaining of the days in the month.
Availability
Currently there are just over 3000 military family housing units and several hundred more are under construction and being prepared for move in. There are many floor plans and styles of homes available to meet the needs of every family. This allows for every military family in the area to have a home within The Parks at Monterey Bay housing area. There are many factors which affect how a home is assigned. Bedroom size of homes is determined by the number, age and gender of children. Housing area is determined by the service member’s current rank, as housing areas are designated by rank bands throughout the project. For more information regarding availability, housing areas and homes, please visit The Parks at Monterey Bay.
Application
Homes within The Parks at Monterey Bay are typically assigned on a first-come, first-served basis and are allocated by rank and family size. If there is a waitlist, your position on that waitlist will be determined by date of application and detachment date, and based on bedroom requirement. Before visiting the management office, be sure to have the following available:
Bring or email a copy of your orders.
If your orders do not list your dependents by name, then we will need a copy of your Record of Emergency Data (Page 2, Navy; DD93, Army) or a copy of DD1172 (Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System form).
If recently married or you have a newborn child, the marriage certificate or birth certificate.
If you receive Basic Allowance for Housing, you must report to the Housing Services Office in Building 4250 on General Jim Moore Boulevard, Ord Military Community (the former Fort Ord) upon your arrival. This should be done prior to making any permanent on- or off-post living arrangements.
Pets
The Parks at Monterey Bay is happy to have up to four of your family pets join you in your home. There is a standard pet policy for privatized housing under the Army's Residential Communities Initiative. For more information regarding the pet policy and the pet addendum, please visit The Parks at Monterey Bay website.
All residents are required to sign a lease with The Parks at Monterey Bay prior to moving into their assigned home. Call 831-242-5702.
For more information regarding the application and move-in, please visit The Parks at Monterey Bay website.
The housing of single service members is controlled by each service unit.
There are currently barracks located on the Presidio of Monterey. Enlisted single service members in the ranks of E1-E5 are required to reside in the barracks. Please check with your service unit prior to signing for a home if you are married traveling unaccompanied.
However, if the unit require the service member (SM) to live off the installation, The Parks at Monterey Bay does have homes for single service members. Please visit The Parks at Monterey Bay website for more information about single service member requirements.
