The first phase of privatized Cadence Communities military housing units for single/unaccompanied service members will open on NW 33rd St., Doral, FL across the street from USSOUTHCOM/U.S. Army Garrison-Miami. When open, the housing will offer options for furnished and unfurnished units and will allow authorized pets if approved by Cadence Communities, IAW and Miami-Dade County regulations. Until then, government-leased housing is available only for designated key and essential personnel.
The second phase of military housing will open December 2026. This phase will include more units for single/unaccompanied service members and duplexes/townhomes for military families. The final phase of the development will open mid-late 2027. When complete, the development will include 60 two-bedroom quarters for service members and 70 to 80 sets of quarters for military families.
Unaccompanied personnel housing is currently located approximately two to five miles from SOUTHCOM Headquarters. It will be phased out beginning June 2026. This housing consists of two-bedroom, two-bath apartments that are fully furnished with a shared kitchen, dining and living area. No pets are allowed in UPH.
