If you’ve ever considered taking your education a step further, you should look to your installation for more information and assistance. They can help you decide if receiving an advanced degree is right for you, tell you which local colleges and classes are offered and find out if you’re eligible for tuition assistance. The Voluntary Education Center, or Installation Education Center, is available to help you put together a plan to advance your education.
Military spouses can also choose to engage with an education and career coach through the DoD’s Spouse Education and Career Opportunities program, or SECO. These coaches can assist them in exploring multiple tools, resources and information to reach their educational goals. The Base Education and Training provides services to military members and their families and civilian employees, to include assistance and consultation on high school and college study programs and enrollment in correspondence courses. Central Michigan University, Park University, and Embry-Riddle University have offices on base. Sinclair Community College also holds some classes at WPAFB.

Local Programs
There are as many as 20 schools within a 20 mile radius of Wright-Patterson AFB. Southwestern Ohio Counsel for Higher Education represents many of the schools in the area, including those located off-base.
The Education Office offers testing for the following: Regents College Examination Program, ACT, SAT, GRE, GMAT, National Teachers Exam (Praxis Series), CLEP/DANTES. Testing services offered are for military only, with the exception of the National Teachers Exam (Praxis Series) and CLEP/DANTES, which are offered to both military and civilians.
There is no Graduate Equivalent Diploma (GED) program on base.
