Check-in Procedures

Welcome to Buckley SFB! If you arrive during duty hours, check in with your Unit Command Support Staff (CSS) to begin in-processing. Report in uniform and anticipate doing your initial base in-processing the same day or the following day, depending upon your arrival time. Members will be referred to the Finance Office (Building 1030) for travel voucher completion. If you are eligible for house hunting, you may be granted permissive temporary duty by your unit commander after you have completed your initial in-processing. Make sure that you are officially on permissive TDY to avoid being charged with regular leave. If you arrive after duty hours, report to your unit CSS the following day. If no unit CSS is available, report to the Military Personnel Section (Building 606).

Civilian Employees

Report to the Civilian Personnel Office, Building 606, weekdays 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. for in-processing.

• PCS orders (multiple copies)
• All personal identification documents; military ID cards, marriage and birth certificates, passports and Social Security cards
• Medical/dental records, including immunization records for family members and pets
• Wills and Powers of Attorney
• Family member employment records and letters-of-recommendations, transcripts and professional licenses
• School records
• Inventory list of household goods shipment and unpacking map
• Your unit contact information provided by sponsor and sponsor information
• Reservations for your base lodging or off-base hotel upon arrival
• Any car titles or bills of sales pertaining to vehicles, especially if you purchased the vehicle overseas. You will need these documents to register your vehicle.
• Drivers Licenses and proof of car insurance and registration. If you are returning from an overseas assignment, have proof that you were insured by an overseas insurance company during the time you were out of country. If you cannot prove insurance, you may be considered "uninsured" for that time period and may be required to pay much higher premiums when obtaining new insurance policies.

Command Sponsorship

Secure command sponsorship to avoid paying out of pocket travel expenses for family members. Family members must be enrolled in DEERS and added to your permanent change of station (PCS) orders. Medical, dental, official travel, passports and other costs are not reimbursable without required sponsorship.

Temporary Lodging Reservations

Call The Rocky Mountain Lodge (RML) on Buckley at 720-847-5899 to make reservations or visit http://www.dodlodging.net/default.aspx for online reservations. Buckley SFB is located approximately 15 miles from Denver International Airport. Space may fill quickly. It is suggested you make your reservations as soon as possible. The RML is located on 345 S. Beaver Creek St., Building 331, Buckley Space Force Base. Reserve pet friendly rooms at the RML on a space available basis or ask for a list of kennels in the local area.

Dorm Residents

PCS single airmen/guardians (E-4/SPC 4 and below) arriving after duty hours or during a weekend are to contact their sponsor or First Sergeant upon arrival. If you need the phone number of your First Sergeant, you may visit Building 28, Panther Hall. The base phone roster of all first sergeants is located on the main bulletin board. You may also elect to call the Buckley Command Post at 720-847-4600 to be connected to your unit first sergeant.

Temporary Mail Box

The official Mail Center is located on Telluride Street (Building 207), just south of the BX and Commissary.

Contact the official Mail Center at 720-847-9710 to set up a 30-day temporary mail box. A copy of your PCS orders, a phone number, and a personal email address will be required.

To ensure your new spouse is properly cared for, inform your Commander and First Sergeant if you get married enroute to Buckley SFB.

Once you report to the installation, schedule an appointment with the Military Personnel Flight to enroll your spouse in DEERS and get their dependent ID card. DEERS ID Card Scheduling.
