If you need emergency assistance, you can expect to get help from your installation, your branch of service resources. There are programs to support you in a variety of situations, including victim assistance, emergencies en route and service-specific relief societies. Below, you’ll find types of assistance, contact information, and detailed procedures and guidance to help you through any tough circumstances that you or your family may face.
In the event of a financial emergency, contact the nearest Airman and Family Readiness Center. The Buckley SFB Airman/Guardian & Family Readiness Center can be reached at 720-847-6681. This office can assist eligible individuals during financial emergency situations through the Air Force Aid Society, Army Emergency Relief, Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society and Coast Guard Mutual Assistance. If the emergency is after duty hours, contact the American Red Cross, 877-272-7337. Emergency financial assistance may be available for eligible individuals: active-duty military members, widows, retirees and guardsmen/reservists.
American Red Cross
The American Red Cross has the ability to communicate with your home about a family emergency and is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This includes verification of death or serious illness in the immediate family, birth announcements to fathers deployed in remote locations and health/welfare reports resulting from a lack of communication over a long period of time.
In the event of a health emergency, please go to your nearest emergency room and contact the Buckley Military Treatment Facility, 720-847-WELL or 720-847-9355.
In the event of a financial emergency and you are applying for assistance ensure you submit your supporting documents Leave & Earnings Statement, Utilities statements, Lease Agreement and etc. to the appropriate agency. In preparation for a non-financial emergency during transit keep a listing of telephone numbers to your unit Commander's Support Staff orderly room, Sponsor, Military Personnel Section, and/or the telephone for the garrison operator.
In the event of an emergency while traveling, contact the Buckley Garrison Command Post (720-847-4600), unit commander's support staff (orderly room), sponsor, and/or the American Red Cross of the Mile High Area (303-722-7474).
